Melanated Memorials

About Us

At Melanated Memorials, we understand the patience and understanding required to assist families during their time of need. When it comes to purchasing a memorial, we bring empathy, expertise, and compassion to every step—from designing and choosing the perfect marker to its delivery and installation. Melanated Memorials is not just here to sell a marker; we’re here to help you create a memorial that truly speaks to the memory of those you’ve lost.

Tammecia

Owner | Manager | Designer

With more than 17 years of experience in the Death Care industry, Tammy has compassionately served countless families, helping them navigate the emotional process of planning final arrangements for those who have transitioned. In 2021, she continued her journey by creating Life In Color Memorials, and becoming one of a handful of Black female-owned monument dealers in the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana area. Recognizing the need for greater representation within the monument industry, Tammy pivoted to Melanated Memorials in 2023. Driven by the belief in “Purpose over Profit,” Tammy understands that true success is not measured in dollars, but in the lives touched and the comfort provided. For her, the greatest reward is knowing she has helped others find peace and meaning during their most difficult moments.

Jennifer

Office Manager | Designer

With years of experience serving families across Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, Jen has dedicated her career to supporting others through life’s most tender transitions. As both a Death Doula and Family Counselor in the Death Care industry, she provides gentle guidance, deep compassion, and heartfelt understanding to those navigating loss. Jen’s passion lies in easing the heartache that accompanies grief by helping families honor their loved ones in ways that are both personal and meaningful. She believes that every life deserves to be remembered with intention and love, and she is deeply honored to assist families in creating memorials that reflect the memories, legacy, and spirit of those they hold dear. Through her work, Jen strives to bring comfort, connection, and peace—helping families preserve their loved ones’ stories for generations to come.
